Babies Environment

Our mobile and non-mobile babies benefit from a large, bright, open plan day room. Their room is well equipped with the latest in sensory equipment to test their senses and encourage development.

As babies spend a lot of time sleeping at this early age, we provide a dedicated sleep room. We also constantly monitor the room temperature in the day nursery to ensure the babies are comfortable at all times.

There will never be more than three babies to any one member of staff. Therefore, you can be assured that your little one will get the essential attention they need at this early stage. Your child’s key person will take care of all your child’s personal needs whenever necessary.

Toddlers Environment

When your child moves up a stage, their day is structured around their changing interests. All our nursery equipment has been carefully selected to allow your child to discover at their individual level of understanding.

The room focuses on the primary areas of the ‘Early Years Foundation Stage’ framework and encourages learning through play. We ensure your child is allowed to explore their own interests by creating various dedicated areas. These offer a diverse selection of activities such as: The ‘Story Corner’ where children can sit in a group and listen to stories. Also, ‘Sand and Water Play’; a ‘Construction Area’ to develop coordination and lastly a ‘Messy Play’ area for getting mucky.

Toddlers will benefit from a staffing ratio of one member of staff looking after no more than three children. There will also be supervised access to our fantastic garden.

Moreover, at this age the majority of children start ‘toilet training’. Therefore, this area will be equipped with brightly decorated children’s toilets, encouraging independence.

Preschool Environment

Your child will embark on their pre-school journey with us at around three years old, enjoying an enriching learning environment that fully supports their individual needs as well as the group activities and play. There will be some guided areas, such as construction area, home corner, book area, and creative spaces for music and art.

To complement these, we provide a range of areas and activities which serve different purposes to inspire your child’s imagination and role play, they’ll be able to safely explore feelings and friendships, develop problem-solving, and have space available where they can have quiet time and reflection.  Their time in the pre-school environment leads them towards starting their school journey, where their first year at school sees them complete their Early Years Foundation Stage journey that began at our nursery.

Outdoor Environment and Trips

Our children have open access to the garden and outdoor spaces every day. This allows them to complete a lot of their daily activities outside through choice. The garden also reflects the areas of learning and allows problem solving on a grander scale.

All our children get the opportunity to go on local educational trips. Whether it be to the local shops or places of interest, we always risk assess our outings and ensure that ratios are adhered to.

Additionally, we invite the local businesses and the emergency services to come in and talk to the children about safety awareness and their community.
