To mark World Environment Day, our children enjoyed learning about our planet, trees, insects and animals through hands-on play and exploration.
Using a sensory invitation to play, they investigated different creatures, talked about where animals live and used magnetic shapes to build their own homes and habitats.
Activities like these encourage children to ask questions, think creatively and develop an understanding of the world around them - all through play.

This week, we are taking part in Child Safety Week, with a range of activities and discussions designed to help children learn about staying safe and the people who help us every day.
To kick things off, our Creators Preschool children enjoyed exploring different community helper roles through role play and discussion. Holding their stop and go signs, dressing up and sharing their ideas, the children talked about who helps keep us safe and what we should do in different situations.
Together, we discussed:
🚒 How firefighters help in emergencies
👮♀️ How police officers help keep our communities safe
🚑 Who we can ask for help if we need it
🛑 The importance of road safety and listening carefully to instructions
The children loved stepping into different roles and confidently sharing their thoughts and experiences with their friends.
At Monkey Puzzle West Norwood, we believe children learn so much through conversation, role play and real-life experiences, helping them build confidence, understanding and awareness of the world around them.

Last week our Discoverers and Creators children enjoyed a fantastic experience as we welcomed Mango Tree Kids and The Jolly Djembe Club to Monkey Puzzle West Norwood.
Through music, storytelling, movement and drumming, the children were taken on an imaginative adventure across Africa, exploring different rhythms, cultures and traditions in a fun and engaging way.
We loved seeing the children fully immersed in the experience - singing, dancing, dressing up and embracing every moment with enthusiasm and curiosity.
Experiences like these help children build confidence, develop communication and listening skills, and encourage curiosity about the world around them through play and exploration.

World Bee Day helps raise awareness of the important role bees and other pollinators play in keeping people and the planet healthy 🌍
Through painting, conversation and child-led creativity, the children explored how bees help the environment and why caring for nature matters from an early age.
