At Monkey Puzzle Day Nurseries our approach to your child’s development starts with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum and goes way further to help your child make the most of their time at nursery and prepare them for the journey ahead.

Our curriculum is planned incorporating all aspects of British values, START and every child matters.

Our first main focus for us is that the children are happy and feel safe to learn and thrive. The welfare of the child is paramount and this is demonstrated in our robust safeguarding policies and practice. We as a company have implemented policies and procedures to ensure all staff have up to date knowledge on how we safeguard children inside and outside of the setting.

We focus on preparing and supporting children at each stage of their development reach their developmental milestones and for smooth transitions through the Nursery. Our aim is that Children leave us with the confidence and sound life and play skills that they need for school readiness. For example: independence with the toilet, dressing and undressing, confidence to speak up, make friends and conflict resolution skills. We teach children about feelings, emotions and their well- being through planned activities and play. This is incorporated into our daily practice to ensure the child voice is heard and their needs and their welfare is promoted across the setting. Our fundamental ethos is to create an environment that children can access all areas of the EYFS and promote key learning such as:

  • Active learners.
  • Independence
  • social interaction.
  • Have a strong sense of self and wellbeing.
  • Being an advocate for your own learning.

Your child will learn through the magic of play, supported by trained staff who have a passion for providing memorable learning experiences. We are devoted to preparing and supporting children at each stage to reach their developmental milestones and transitions smoothly through the Nursery. Some examples: independence with the toilet, dressing and undressing, confidence to speak up, make friends and conflict resolution skills.

We capture and share your child’s development and time with us through our Famly app, updating the Learning Journey with observations that detail the activities your child takes part in by capturing the moment in both written word and photograph. This begins from the moment your child begins their journey at our nurseries and stays with them until they leave at which point all of this information can be shared with their new school or wherever else your child is taking their next steps. You have access to your child’s Learning Journey and are more than welcome to take a peek inside anytime, you will also be given plenty of opportunities to learn more about how your child spends their day at the nursery’s, parents evenings and other events.
