Keep the Spanish Going This Summer with Our La Ola Spanish Playlist
One of the highlights of the week at Monkey Puzzle West Norwood is our Spanish sessions with the wonderful team at La Ola Spanish.
As part of our programme of extra-curricular experiences, our weekly Spanish lessons give children the opportunity to build confidence, develop communication skills and discover a love of languages through music, movement and play.
From the very first “¡Hola!” to singing songs, learning colours, numbers and new vocabulary, our children enjoy every session while developing valuable skills that support their wider Early Years learning.
You can find out more about the range of extra-curricular experiences we offer throughout the week on our Extra-Curricular Activities page.
Learning Through Music, Play and Imagination
Throughout the year, our children enjoy weekly Spanish sessions where every lesson is brought to life through songs, games and imaginative play.
This summer term, they have explored exciting themes including pirates, crocodiles, fruit, sailors, the desert and even a Hawaiian fiesta. Every topic has encouraged children to join in, ask questions and discover new Spanish words in a way that feels natural and enjoyable.
Learning another language in the Early Years isn’t about memorising vocabulary. It’s about building confidence, developing communication skills and encouraging curiosity from an early age.
Keep the Learning Going at Home This Summer
To help families continue enjoying Spanish over the summer holidays, our friends at La Ola Spanish have created a special summer playlist featuring many of the songs the children have been singing in class throughout the term.
The playlist includes:
- 👋 Greetings and welcome songs
- 🌈 Colours
- 🔢 Numbers
- 🎵 Favourite songs from this term’s topics
- 🇪🇸 Everyday Spanish vocabulary used during lessons
Listening to familiar songs helps children revisit the words they’ve already learnt while keeping their confidence growing over the summer.
You Don’t Need to Speak Spanish!
One of the lovely things about learning through music is that everyone can join in.
You don’t need to speak Spanish to support your child’s learning. Simply singing along together, copying the actions, clapping to the beat or dancing around the living room is a wonderful way to encourage language development and have fun together.
These little moments help children build confidence and create positive associations with learning another language.

We’ve included the La Ola Spanish Summer Playlist below so you can enjoy it together throughout the holidays.
Whether you’re listening in the car, singing at home or dancing in the kitchen, we hope your family has lots of fun revisiting the songs we’ve enjoyed so much this year.
